Stacey Middleton,
President
Stacey began her involvement in the music industry as a vocalist,
songwriter, and performer. She moved to Nashville in 1994 to
pursue a career as an artist, and along the way toured as a keyboardist
and backup singer for Jimmie Dale Gilmore, formed the power pop project
known as Sugarbomb, and wrote and played with several notable artists
in the Americana scene in Nashville. In addition to her creative
pursuits, Stacey served as a licensing executive at BMI between 1997
and 1999, gaining valuable exposure to performing rights issues,
writer-publisher relations, and royalty distribution.
In 2000, Stacey attended law school, where she worked at the renowned
New York entertainment law firm of Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz
for notable modeling agencies, film companies, producers, and
publishers. In addition, she served as assistant to the legal counsel
at the Authors Guild in New York. Upon returning to Nashville in
2004, Stacey founded Middleton Entertainment, LLC. She holds a
music degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a J.D. from the
Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, and an LL.M. in Taxation
from Georgetown University Law Center.
In addition to her management role at Middleton Entertainment, LLC,
Stacey is a licensed attorney in both Tennessee and New York.
Stacey is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Nashville Bar
Association, and the Americana Music Association.
